Last night, Harley came up and took my history book away and sat down in front of me.
Apparently he wanted me to watch him play with his brother's birthday present, haha.

And he was very pleased with himself :D

This guy (sorry, I don't know his name) works for our neighbor who came over and did the laying of the new hard wood floor for us. They're awesome :D

They are almost done with the floor, so I will not post anymore pictures until it is completely done with all the appliances and furniture back in place.

Exciting pictures, I know. But I...misplaced the camera for a while and didn't take as many as I wanted. I will post more pictures of the completed project once "there's a place for everything and everything in its place."
The work in the kitchen has commenced and I will be posting pictures as soon as I remember to take some :D ttfn

Literally, Laugh Out Loud

I have been reading this book that I borrowed from Vicky called Unique Stories and Facts from LDS History by Dan Barker. It really is one of the most interesting books I have read. Anyway, there is a story about baptism that I just have to share because it made me laugh out loud.

Rulon Francis Thompson relates the following comical story:
I was baptized north of [Richmond]. [The area] was all covered with hawthorn bushes and known as Muddy River [and is now called the Cub River]. Several boys were baptized that day. I remember how cold the water was. It took your breath as you waded out into the river to where we were to be immersed. The water came almost up to our shoulders. When one of the boys, LaFayette Tibbets, came up out of the water he said, "Hell that's cold!" He was immediately immersed in the water again. When he came up the second time, he kept his mouth shut.

More Flood Yuck

Since the kitchen flooded, we have to replace the south part of the ceiling and the south wall in our bedroom. My awesome brother-in-law is going to help us get it done.  More like, we're going to help him since he knows how to do it, lol. We also have to replace the carpet and since the wall and ceiling will be redone and there will be no carpet for a bit, we are going to paint our room. Woohoo!!! So, over the next few weeks or so, we will be redoing our bedroom, reflooring the kitchen, hall and front entryway, eventually painting our bathroom, Ian's bathroom and the main floor bathroom. I will update with pictures of our progress! I'm kind of excited to get everything done!

My Wonderful 22nd

Today I turned 22. 
Yesterday we had a barbecue for my birthday with our families. We had a really great time eating, laughing and talking. My wonderful husband orchestrated the whole thing and it turned out really well. Vicky even descended from her sick bed to attend ;D Being surrounded by good food and good people who love you is a perfect way to celebrate your birthday.

This morning, I slept through 3 alarms and a few texts and missed church. However, my wonderful husband took our children upstairs when they woke up so that I could sleep. Although it's embarrassing, I will admit that I slept until noon. After a couple quick errands, I returned to the house to see that hubby had enlisted my awesome little brothers-in-law to help decorate and make waffles for me for my birthday. It was really sweet, and I couldn't have asked for better in-laws. We all hung out for several hours after the yummy meal the boys made and when it started to rain, we grabbed all the kids and went for a walk. This being Utah, the rain stopped as we got outside, but we went for the walk anyway and had a good time. Jared and the kids had a water fight, which I watched for a moment. It was all in all, a very relaxed, enjoyable day.

I got some really great stuff for my birthday, but the best present of all, I have to admit, was when I checked on my boys in their room at 9 pm, they were both out like a light. (My oldest is never asleep before midnight. I hope this is a good sign.)
