Kinda Cool

At our house, we have been turning off the tv and computers more, thinking that it will help us spend more time together. Well, tonight was a prime example that it works. Mike, the kids and I hung out in the kitchen while I made grilled cheese and just talked and laughed and watched funny videos on youtube. After dinner, Lydia and I went to Harmon's so she could turn in a picture she colored for a cookie from the Bakery. The guy working there was really nice and gave her two instead of just one. We ran over to my parents for just a bit, picked up Joel and went home. After that, we all just sat in the kitchen or family room and just hung out together. Mike was playing his guitar, Philip was playing the clarinet, Vicky was reading and the rest of us were talking and sorting playing cards (which we were going to use for a game) Lydia, the twins and Joel were making big rubber band chains (which they later used as rather effective sling shots :D). We didn't need the computer (except for the watching of youtube videos), or the tv to spend time with each other. The silence was kind of nice. I usually like having noise. Listening to music while I'm on the computer, turning a movie on while I make dinner or as a go to sleep. (All this while I'm updating my blog :D) But tonight, it was nice to just be a family and enjoy each other's company.

I have been pretty good about what I eat, except for last night when Aubrie brought over chocolates...wow. I was in heaven! Man, was that chocolate good! I could have eaten the toasted coconut or the mint chocolates all night. And probably would have, had they been mine, lol. I really love chocolate. I think, in order to lose weight, I have to just swear off all chocolate...but I don't think I can do that. I like it too much. I swear, if I don't have chocolate every few days, my brain just goes crazy, lol. I like anything that's sweet, really. Ahh, anyway...I really am trying. I'm eating more fruits and vegetables and less junk. Smaller portion sizes, more water and less soda...ok, less Dr. Pepper, lol.

Now, I just need to work on getting to bed earlier than 2-3 in the morning. So, goodnight!

Weekly Report

Today, I actually got up, went walking and exercised. I didn't walk very long because it was flippin cold outside and I am a wuss! I can say it, my name is Dani and I am a wuss! But I did go, and I did work out. It was very satisfying and I feel a lot more awake than I usually would. I am very proud of myself this morning :D

Tomorrow night I am teaching a pressure cooking class for our "Relief Society Activity Night." I do not Pressure cook. I have never, until last night, pressure cooked. I do not have any clue as to why they would ask me to teach the class. So I am very nervous about it. I did dinner in the pressure cooker last night and it didn't turn out quite like I wanted it to, but it was still really good, if I do say so myself...and I do!

I am so very excited beyond words, for the next few months. Well, 2 months in particular. In March, our little lyddiebug will be turning 8!
Christmas 2009
(not a great pic, but the most recent I have)
I can't believe she's 8 already! I met her when she was just barely 2 and I remember when she used to call me Aubrie, lol. I am really excited for her and she is very excited to be turning 8 and getting baptized! In May, my little Harley will be turning 2!

(2 days old 14May2008)

I'm not sure what month, but the end of 2009
I am so excited for this! My little guy will be 2 years old, I cannot believe it has gone by so fast! I know everyone says that, but I really can't believe it! He is just growing so fast! Pretty soon we're going to be starting potty training and putting him in his own twin bed. Exciting time for us, haha! Speaking of the monster, he is awake, so I will finish this quick. On May 13, my best friend (pretty much my brother) is coming home from his mission! He is in Puerto Rico (the little twerp!) and I can't wait to see him! He left a week before Harley was born and now I have Harley and Hayden, haha. I am just soooo excited!

Slacker

I've been a little bit of a slacker lately on posting photos. So here are a few:
He just decided to give his little brother a kiss!

Harley with Uncle Joel on his first sledding trip!

Harley, Jared, Me, Chris, Joel, Lydia and Ian.
That was a blast!

Me and my little honey pie, Hayden.

Totally passed out on Daddy.
Awesome.

Conor and Camilla Unrau.
Preference. She asked him! :D

Ok, I think that's all for now. I am trying to take more pictures. When Harley was itty bitty, I took pictures all the time everywhere we went, lol. But I get a little distracted trying to make sure Harley's not tearing everything down to be able to take all the pictures I want. But I'm trying to be better.

Not too well

So I have not been doing very well the past two weeks. I do fine for a day or two, maybe three, but then I give in again. I just have to stop eating my trigger foods. Like Turtles. I was doing so well the first 3 days and I sent my sweet husband to the store for something or other and in his awesomeness, he brought home my favorite candy. Turtles...pecan turtles. That did. I was done. I could not stop eating them or buying them. I am trying to have more self control now. So, turtles and dr. pepper. Gotta stop consuming those.

On another note, Fight Club is s seriously twisted movie. Not as twisted as Identity...well, maybe. I don't really like to watch psychological thrillers more than once...ok, I seriously just had a 5 minute gigglefest with Joel...we really can't stop...my cheeks hurt!!! I think the Nutella was drugged...

Beginning

Losing the combined baby weight from my two babies has not been progressing at all...Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, chocolate in general and Dr. Pepper are to blame...as is my lack of self discipline. I haven't really cared much, thinking that Jared loves me no matter what. But I finally sat down and thought about how life has been for me the past year and a half and realized that I absolutely hate going shopping because nothing ever fits, I have a hard time running around with Harley because I get winded so fast and it's even difficult for me to climb one flight of stairs. That is just completely ridiculous for someone my age.
What I'm going to do:
Eat smaller portions (no going back for seconds)
No more junk like Dr. Pepper, candy and chips. Dr. Pepper is only allowed at restaurants, not fast food, but actual restaurants and candy only at movies every once in a while.
No more snacking just because I have nothing better to do
No more stress eating.

My weight as of this morning is 203 lbs. I would like to get down to 145-150 by summertime. Or just a size 9-10 in jeans. I figure if I keep track of my weight on my blog, then I'll be more inclined to actually do than to admit defeat in public :D We'll see how I do. I have faith in myself and I know I can do it if I try.

Shooting...

Today Mike, Jared, Conor, Ian, Paul, Philip, William, Wade, Grandpa B and I went shooting. It was actually a lot of fun. It was my first time shooting a gun and it was pretty cool. I actually liked watching all the boys load and shoot the guns themselves and get really excited and proud of themselves when they hit what they were aiming for :D They all listened so well to Mike's instructions and rules and there wasn't any real fighting over who got to use what gun first. They were just all so good! I got a lot of pictures of everybody and I am pretty sure I was the only one to not shoot Mike's new gun, lol. All the boys had their turn and I got some video of the twins because it kicked them back a bit and...well, it was funny, lol. Fun day!
